The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Friday, April 24, 2015:

A Celebration of Nations was held at the Central lakes College in Brainerd.
It all started out with a horn signal welcoming visitors.
Then it was Scandinavian music compliments of Skal Klubb.
You can see and hear that group at the Nisswa Stamman on June 12 & 13, 2015.

Plenty of dancing that night.
This young man is from Africa.
Public TV Channel 9/22 was there to document the evemt.

They show up at quite a few gatherings including a driver safety course in which Paula was interviewed.

For Latin music with flutes, the Pechanga Society played.
Then there was African music by the Fatawu Sayibu Tiyumba.

Try pronouncing that!  The music had a real beat.

It seemed that almost everyone got up to dance, including the kids.

Paula was content to play a Spanish guitar from old Mexico while others were tattooed.
Paula is very musical, but doesn't do tattoos.

Yes, there were exhibits from all over the world including India and Japan.

Plenty to see and there was craft making too.

The Ha Family was there.

Watch it, Paula, there is a LION behind you!

The Ha Family did their famous Chinese Lion Dance.  Very well done.

Quote of the day:    An interesting evening.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
