Sunday,
January 11, 2015:
Mark and Paula headed to Fort Meyers/Cape Coral, Florida. It wasn't long before Paula was trying on clothing at a craft and arts festival. Leave it to her to find these things. She bought a shirt too. |

Then it was off
Ford's Garage for dinner.
This is a well known place.
Mark liked this Model A Ford truck. It reminded him of the truck he drove when he was on the road as a radio broadcast engineer. Now, he drives a Ford Edge. A great American car. |
|
Paula liked this white Ford Model A. She drives a
Lincoln by Ford. It is now the
Gilbert Lodge Limo. This restaurant pays tribute to American legend Henry Ford and harkens back to the prohibition days. Ford wintered in Cape Coral/Fort Meyers with Thomas Edison almost a century ago. |
There are more Ford cars hanging
inside at the bar and dining area. Hope they are held to the
ceiling well! |
Mark liked the door handle on the
men's room door. The sink inside had a gas
pump handle as well. Nice touch. He didn't checkout at any of the other fixtures in the restroom. He was too embarrassed to look! |
Paula ordered the Ultimate Berger. It came
branded. When have you seen that before? Mama Ford's Homemade Meatloaf was a hit as well when served with a crock of beans. They sure eat well in Florida. |
It doesn't matter if they are from far away or in town, customers like this place. |
Quote of the day: A wonderful day on vacation in a warm climate. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
