Tuesday,
July 31, 2012: The Crow Wing County Fair opened that
day. Many thousands attend each year. This is probably one of the best state fairs around. |
Lots of exhibits to see.
Greg Olson, from South Long Lake, was there with many small engines from 100 years ago. Always fun to see these engines run with their pop...pop...pop sound. |
Plenty of things to eat at the fair. Paula chose a cheeseburger while Mark picked a turkey leg. They passed up corn dogs with mustard and ketchup, but many others liked them. |
For dessert, they stopped at the
Minnesota Bee Keepers
booth. A beehive is always a popular attraction at there. The queen bee is in there somewhere. She is larger than the rest. |
What do you get at this stand?
Answer: Honey and nuts on ice cream. Who could ask for more? |
Then it was off the the horse barn to see Haven Bernatsky and her horse Butterball. |
Karli Monahan and her horse Daisy were there as well. |
It wasn't long before Mark and Paula were spotted among royalty.
They were Miss Brainerd Lakes and Miss Baxter. A fitting end to a great evening. |
