         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Saturday, July 28, 2012:  Mark was off to the annual Whitefish Chain Antique and Classic Wood Boat Rendezvous. 

Perfect weather drew a thousand or more people.

They had to limit visitors to the dock for safety reasons.    

Some 80 antique boats were on display for many to see.

Plenty of imaginative names on these wood boats too.
Mark's pick was a wooden boat with a V-12, 650 horsepower engine built in 1928. 

Awesome stuff even today.
Always room for a boat with a vintage Evenrude outboard motor.
There were a few cars too. 

This 1960 Plymouth was towing a boat.
What is that boat?

It is a 1959 Herters Flying Fish with a 4-cylinder 40-horse Mercury outboard motor.
Harry Munson of Red Ling, Minnesota, shows up every year to show off his small engines. 

Some are steam engines, others are gas-driven.
