Wednesday,
June 20, 2012: Paula and Mark
were off to tour the
Captain Fredrick Pabst
Mansion in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This prestigious home was completed
in 1892 at a cost of $254,000, which is over 33 million dollars in today's
money! It is quite a place. No expense was spared in the construction of this one. Twelve servants were required to keep the place running. |
The dynamic Duo toured the Miller Brewing Company next. This is their "we were here'" photo. |
The Miller Girl in the Moon is from some of their great advertising. |
|
The bottling is mostly automated. Thousands of bottles and cans of beer come off the line every minute. |
For a contrast, Mark and Paula visited the
Lakefront
Brewery. It is a micro brewery that has recently graduated
into being a regional brewery. This family-run operation that has
many loyal followers.
|
Bottles are put in boxes two at a time. Beer tasting was a fun activity that day. This town seems to be full of beer breweries. |
A view of a portion of the Milwaukee skyline.
A beautiful city. |
Paula was later seen cooling off with a cone of "cookies
and cream" at a Kopp's
Frozen Custard stand.
How can you blamer her? It was 95 degrees that day. |
Quote of the day: You can never tour too many breweries. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
