Thursday, December 15, 2011:  Chef Paula was busy making fudge for holiday revilers. 

Her secret recipe is rich and creamy.  It can't be beat.  

At just past 4 PM, the sun was setting over frozen Gilbert Lake. 

Yes, sunset comes early over the frozen tundra of northern Minnesota during December.
At 7 PM, the Dulcimer Payers group showed up to play Christmas music in the Great Room at Gilbert Lodge.

When dressed up just right, Dale and Ruthie looked the part and could easily pass for Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.

Dulcimer music is heart warming.
