Friday, November 18, 2011:  Ice is forming on Gilbert Lake.  It started on Thursday and is progressing from the narrower portions of the lake toward the large part.

Trees are shadowing some of the ice.  Open water can still be seen at the far end of this part of the lake. 

Trapped in the ice is lake grass.  Light snowflakes settled near it to add a freckled appearance to the ice.
