         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

October 21, 2011:  It was Oktoberfest time at Ruttger's on Bay Lake about 20 miles east of Brainerd.  The event included music, food, beer, and a craft fair.  Many hundreds attend each year.

The Apensterne Band was there playing polkas and similar music for the crowd.  That included the Beer Barrel Polka, Wooden Heart, Amore, In Heaven there is no Beer, and Edelweiss.

Paula liked the Heritagefest Narren....especially the one that looked like a cat.  These masked characters liven up the Oktoberfest.

The Concord Singers were back again and were fun to listen to.  They are also from New Ulm, which is the unofficial German capital of Minnesota.

Mark said hi to his friend Jack Ruttger, owner of Ruttger's. 

Paula went straight for the Kettle Korn.  Paula, do you share?
