Sunday, October 16, 2011: Paula was seen picking an apple from a tree. Was she in the Garden of Eden? No, she was at the Afton Apple near Hastings, Minnesota. |
They have a sign on the farm to tell you what the weather is like
at that moment.
While there, Mark enjoyed a pumpkin donut while Paula couldn't resist an apple donut. They also offered apple bratwurst. A real crowd pleaser. |
Paula is a friend of animals everywhere. She fed this Llama at the apple farm. |
Then it was off to Stillwater, Minnesota, to see the bridge to Wisconsin and boats on the St. Croix River. |
North of Stillwater, there is a lookout where visitors can see down river. |
Still further north along the St. Croix River, they stopped at Taylor's Falls where rock climbers were busy practicing their sport. |
There is a stern-wheel ferry that takes people on rides on the
river....in this case it was into the setting sun. It reminded Mark and Paula of Mark Twain. |
Quote of the day: A St. Croix River drive is a fun trip. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
