Whoomp!...the tree came down on Island Drive....all 76 feet of it.  The felling was a success.  (Photo by Kurt Hanson) 

Soon, Kurt "Chainsaw Man" Hanson pitched in to cut up the behemoth. 

Mark took the logs to a wood pile for splitting into firewood later in the season.  This was one of the larger pieces.  The tree was 23 inch across the base.  (Photo by Kurt Hanson)

Mark, it looks like you are getting a suntan while you work. 

Paula "Super Scooper" Persons used a 30-inch-wide snow shovel to gather up the debris.  It was a well coordinated operation.

Paula, I'll bet you didn't think you would be using this snow shovel in the summertime too!
