Tuesday, May 17, 2011: The Dynamic Duo of Mark and Paula Persons headed to Spearfish, South Dakota. Along the way, they encountered streams with spring water. |
This waterfall is in Spearfish Canyon, not far from the Spearfish Canyon Lodge. Road signs in this neck of the woods read: Be Still Road, Wrinkle Valley Road, Custer Gulch, Chaparral Campfire Road, Breezy Meadow road, Killopen Springs Road, Dew Drop Lane, Custer Crossing, Scenic View Lane, Rockland Road, Hideaway Road, Upper Two-Bit Road, Grizzly Gulch, Mountain Shadow Road, Cheyenne Crossing, and Calamity Gulch. |
Later, the couple visited the High Plains Western Heritage Center to learn about the lives of cowboys and to see this buffalo. They were glad it was a stuffed one, not a live one. Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam. |
The "Mystery Diners" Mark and Paula stopped at the Bum Steer Restaurant in Spearfish, SD, for supper. It is a local favorite. Their specialty is beef steaks. The diners rated this restaurant four stars. |
Look, there's a signpost up ahead. Does that tell us where the Dynamic Duo might be headed? Stay tuned for the next exciting adventure! |
May 17, 2011 E-mail: Looks like you two have having a great trip. Nice pictures to keep the rest of us that are stuck at home, up to date! Hope the Wine Connoisseur pick out a winning wine. I think the barrel is a good choice. Dave in Brainerd, Minnesota. |
