Sunday February 13, 2011:  The weather warmed up to about 50 degrees briefly during the day.  However, there is plenty of snow on the roof below the Galley window at Gilbert Lodge.  Much of that snow had fallen from the upper roof to this lower roof.   
Snow and ice at Gilbert Lodge was melting and running out of the gutters like a broken spigot.

Does this mean spring is coming soon?  Stay tuned to is blog as the future unfolds.     
Later, the sun set through the trees southwest of Gilbert Lodge.  There is snow on the ground, but that may not last long.  The forecast for the next four days included high 30's to low 40's temperatures during the day.    

Only 32 days until St. Patrick's Day!
