December 31, 2010: Mark and Paula woke up to four or five inches on new snow on the ground. They could see it hanging heavy on trees outside the Great Room. |
Snow was very visible from the Promenade Deck too. Yes, the deck is a summertime place, not a winter place. |
Accumulated snow sat thick on trees as well. |
A closer look showed snow many times thicker than the branches themselves. |
The good part is that blue skies started to appear. That is usually the way with winter in Minnesota. First the snow, then the weather turns cold and clear. |
Paula carried Josie the cat out to the mailbox and then let her walk back. Josie wasn't too sure about the idea, but it all worked out. |
Paula caught a photo of rabbit tracks in the snow. She referred to it a Charlie Brown Christmas. |

A bench and bird bath....items that will have to wait until spring when the time is right for them. After all, it is winter in Minnesota. Photo by Paula. |
Quote of the day: Winter is here. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
