The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

October 2, 2010:  It was a beautiful day so the Minnesota School of Diving drove to the Hopkins mine to dive the site Diamond Cove.  The wall structure is quite beautiful in it's own way.

At 70 feet below we found this flag just past an old abandoned mine shaft.

Coming back we ran into this guy at 30 feet.  Divers can be pranksters.

We also ran into this guy.  I have yet to figure out what he is.

Divers having more fun.  It also helps us find direction under water.

This sucker came out to visit us.  He actually got so close I was able to touch his tail.  At that point he took off in a hurry.

The scene as we left overlooking the pit we were at.  To think...this was barren land being mined in the early 1970's.

Quote of the day:  A day like this is why I live in Minnesota.   Paula < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
