October 1, 2010:  It was Oktoberfest time at the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd, MN.  This fund raiser for the Arb and was well attended.

Yes, some beer was being served.

Bartenders included (l-r) Jeff Dirks and Dale Braddy, Executive Director of Northland Arboretum.

Bratwurst and pretzels were served to the delight of the crowd. 

Let's take a closer look at the bratwurst.  Topped with mustard and sauerkraut, it was terrific.  The entre was served with hot German potato salad.  It doesn't get any better than this!   

Participants in the Hammerschlagen contest tried to pound a nail into a tree stump using the claw end of a hammer.  Not an easy task, but lots of fun.

One of the features was a yodeling contest.  How do they do that? 

It was a great crowd pleaser.
