October 5, 2010:  It was another beautiful day on Gilbert Lake near Gilbert Lodge.  The fall colors are fading some, but they still look good.

The leaves were falling in the woods on the Gilbert Lodge Estate grounds.

Paula and Josie the cat were watching over a fire on the lake side.

Chef Paula put pot roast in a crock pot earlier in the day.  She poured off the liquid for making gravy.

It turned out just right on the stove.

Let's see, pot roast with potatoes and carrots from the farmer's market in Brainerd. 

It all looked great on the table and tasted wonderful too. 

No meal like this could be ended without ice cream and chocolate syup.
