January 2, 2010:  Sunrise from behind the trees near Gilbert Lodge.

The morning temperature was 29 degrees below zero (61 degrees below freezing) and it warmed up to 0 degrees (32 degrees below freezing) in the middle of the afternoon.

Chef Paula brought the taste of the great Southwest to Gilbert Lodge with her famous beans and rice recipe, which includes Smokehouse brand smoked sausage.  It went great with corn and butter-topped rye bread.

January 3, 2010:  It was 29 degrees below zero in the morning.
January 4, 2010:  It was 27 degrees below zero in the morning.
