September 14, 2010: Mark and Paula set out in the Minnow on Gilbert Lake. Along the way they spotted some Canadian geese on the shore of what used to be Fox's Resort. |
Gilbert is a great fishing lake and fishermen are often seen trying their luck with Northern Pike, Blue Gill, Bass, and Crappie. |
Lake resident and friend Karen Engen came aboard to see the sunset that evening with Mark and Paula. Click on the photo for a larger image. |
Then it happened! A mooring line became entangled in the engine propeller. Deep Diver Paula volunteered to untangle the mess in the 56 degree temperature. She said, "It's not bad in the water at this time of year. It is getting out into the cool air that gets to me!" |
Climbing out of the water, she was dripping wet. |
Then it was a quick goodbye to Karen as Paula needed to return to the Lodge to get warmed up. |
September 15, 2010, e-mail: Lynn and a co worker and I read with great interest about the trials and tribulations of the Minnow last night. That was quite a feat, Paula. I wonder how many times the Skipper heard the ole "I told you so" routine. I'll bet he put Gilligan in the bath for a long, hot one simply to drown out that chorus. I was quite humored by the whole experience! Karen in Brainerd, MN.
Quote of the day: You never know what is going to happen aboard the Minnow. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
