May 9, 2009: The first lawn mower of the season was heard near Gilbert Lodge. Yes spring is here. Chef Paula is in the Galley at Gilbert Lodge cooking breakfast eggs on an iron skillet. |
Breakfast is served. Eggs cooked to order, crisp bacon, and toast with Red Currant Jelly from the Knott's Berry Farm Signature Collection. Guests and staff at Gilbert Lodge eat well. |
Splitting firewood was the order of the day. Paula and Mark were busy doing just that. |
Not too bad for a day's work. Plenty of firewood for the Grand Fireplace at Gilbert Lodge. |
Another of Paul's "secret ingredients." She was discovered using Jack Daniel's Hickory Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce on chicken at the outdoor grill on the Promenade Deck at Gilbert Lodge. |
Add Minnesota Wild rice and carrots for a great dinner. |
