         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

November 27, 2009:  It is Black Friday and people are out shopping.  But first, Mark and Paula started out the day at 6:30 AM with breakfast at the Prairie Bay Restaurant in Baxter, MN.  A chef prepared omelets that were terrific.

Later, Mark "tower climber" Persons was at the top of the 64-foot communications tower at Gilbert Lodge.  He was aided by his able ground crew, Paula "I am staying on the ground" Persons.  You can see her as a red speck holding a star that will be pulled up on the tower shortly.

The view of Gilbert Lake was good that day from the tower. 

After dark, the star and light strings really stood out against the sky for everyone to see.

That evening, Chef Paula prepared her famous Hamburger Soup in the Galley at Gilbert Lodge.  

On the table with bread, it looked and tasted great.

A fire in the Grand Fireplace was a sight to behold on that cold evening.
