![]() Thursday, December 12, 2024: Glensheen Historic Estate, the 20,000 square foot Congdon Mansion on the north shore of Lake Superior. Owned by the University of Minnesota, tours are given to the public year round. ![]() Mark and Paula dropped in for a tour. ![]() Imagine yourself in the shoes of those who lived there 100 years ago. ![]() Mark was intrigued by the push-button light switches, which he remembers from his 1950s childhood in Duluth. ![]() ![]() ![]() Dinner for eight at this table. ![]() Once outside, Paula discovered this stone arch bridge over one of the two streams flowing though the property. ![]() The place cost $854,000 to build in 1908, which is 29 million dollars in today's money. |
