 Saturday, May 4, 2024: Duluth, MN. Fishermen were headed out on almost-calm Lake Superior before sunrise.   Mark was a happy guy at a hamfest when he picked up a 1950s broadcast microphone mixer, which he will restore. A shirt there told about amateur radio as a hobby that consumes all the time possible in a life.  Then it was off to the Lake Superior Marine Museum where there is a tug boat on land near the harbor entrance.  Paula was only somewhat impressed by the 100 year old hard-hat diving outfit. She is known locally as Deep Diver Paula and prefers SCUBA diving with her own tank of air.  Lake Superior at the north side of Duluth.   People were drinking in the early evening ambience of the lake at Fitgers.   Mark and Paula headed for the Dubh Linn Irish Brew Pub to take in some night life. It looked like a lot of fun so Paula decided to use the pay phone to tell her friends.  There it was, the famous Aerial Brdige just after sunset. |
