Wednesday, September 19, 2018:
Mark was making the rounds of radio stations in Brainerd telling the story of
writing competitions sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. They
include the Patriot's Pen where students in grades 6-8 write a 300 - 400 word
essay with the theme, "Why My Vote Matters." The other is Voice of
Democracy. Students in grades 9-12 write and read a 3-5 minute essay
titled, "Why My Vote Matters." Details at

October 31 when the competition ends. Mark is a member of the Brainerd
VFW. He is seen here on KLIZ-FM. Mark was also interviewed on KUAL-FM
and B93-FM that day. |

The Dynamic Duo of Mark and Paula went to the Main Street Ale House in Nisswa, Minnesota, for dinner. |

It was Paula's birthday. She was
39, again!! Imagine that with 40 years of marriage. |

|
A dessert special that night was what they described as a cookie with
ice cream and much more. Well, it was more than enough for three people. Even a turtle outside thought it looked and smelled good. |
