Friday, July 27, 2018:   Veterans' Day at Oshkosh.

Lots of finger pointing and poking fun that day too.

Then the veterans' parade started.

The crowd was most appreciative of veterans who put their lives on the line for our country.

Even Mark was there.

A Boeing B-17 flew over in tribute.

A Douglas A-1 Skyraider flew over dropping bombs as many did in Vietnam.

Very effective!

Douglas C-47 transport planes, with WWII Europe invasion stripes, flew over too.

Then a B-29...an impressive sight.

The fly-overs continued.

That night, the Ladies for Liberty singing troupe from Louisville, Kentucky....a lot like the Andrews Sisters in WWII.

Deanna Hampton

                          June Kelly Roy

Songs included Sentimental Journey, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,
is My Country, Grand Old Flag, Yankee Doodle Dandy
and God Bless America

Nancy Cheak

They did a great job entertaining the audience.

Quote of the day:     Fun to see all of this.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
