Sunday, June 10, 2018:
Edinburgh, Scotland, about
7-1/2 hours north of London, England. The imposing statue is of Scottish philosopher Adam Smith. |
Yes, this is the land
of kilts and bag pipes......unicorns too! That's right, real men wear
kilts. |
St. Giles'
Cathedral where Mark and Paula attended church that morning along with
friends Paul and Teresa Hirst. A very awe-inspiring ceremony, but no photos were allowed. |
More streets of
Edinburgh. |
Suddenly there was a
huge parade of demonstrators. |
They were asking for
equal rights for women. |
Many hundreds were
there making their point. |
They were quite
determined to get their way and even brought men in to help. |
Imagine that, women
wanted the right to vote. The next thing they'll want is to drive cars! |
Paula could only take
so much of this so she opted to cool off with some real Scottish ice cream. |
Then a bubble blower
showed up to delight kids and adults alike. |
He had a real zest for
doing this right. |
The sights of
Edinburgh. |
Evening brought lights
and invitations to come in. |
The pubs are a real
gathering spot. |
Many of the local establishments have live music. |
Quote of the day: The only problem I had was with the brogue in their Scottish voices. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
