Saturday, March 17, 2018:
St. Patrick's Day. Folks started gathering at
the Brainerd VFW in
their green outfits. The Brainerd Downtown Association sponsored a kid's costume contest. |

Yes, they were dressed for the occasion. |

Young and old alike, they were celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Note the signal light shirt on one man. The red light is on the bottom and the green is on top. |

The top two contest winners went away with new bicycles. |
 |

Then there was Greg Gray, a local caricature artist. He did a great job. |
 |
|
Then the parade started with an honor guard from local veterans organizations. More than 1000 people turned out for the event. |

The Irish flag was shown as well. |
 |

The Loyal Order of Elbows was there celebrating the day. |

Green beer, along with corned beef and cabbage, was the order of the day. |
