Saturday, February 24, 2018:  The Dynamic Duo headed to Stillwater, Minnesota.
Paula was driving while Mark snapped a few photos of the new bridge that crosses the St. Croix River at Stillwater.

Upon returning from Wisconsin, they spied a sign indicating an exit.  Shopper Paula said, "Let's take it."

The underside of the bridge is a popular spot for ice fishermen.

Paddleboats were waiting nearby for spring to arrive.  They are frozen in ice until then.

The wheelhouses were vacant, but won't be when warm weather returns.
These proud vessels are a testament to Mark Twain and river traffic of this great country.

Local residents were out looking for spring as well from their hillside locations overlooking the river.

Downtown Stillwater was a bustling place with tourist traffic.  This town is filled with antique shops and restaurants.

A mural in town tells the story of the original bridge, which still stands.
It no longer handles car traffic, but should reopen in the spring for pedestrians.

There was Charlie Brown with sweet-tooth Paula.  A sign nearby says, "Life is like a bowl full of chocolate."
Paula likes chocolate, picked up some, and stopped into the antique shop that you see in the background.

Quote of the day:    Paula loves to shop.  Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
