Thursday, December 21, 2017:
Snow was
nestled in the pines at Gilbert Lodge. |
Shot at
4:16 pm, the sun was getting ready to set on this, the "shortest day" of the
year. It cast long shadows on the cold and snowy landscape. |
Colors shown on trees with the last gasp of sunlight. The longest night commeth. |
The
facts: There were 8 hours and 35 minutes of daylight that day with
15 hours and 25 minutes of darkness. Sunrise and sunset times change by just 42 seconds each day late in December. |
Quote of the day: At least the days are starting to get longer. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
