Sunday, November 26, 2017:
Mark and Paula finished up a few days picking up trash in and around the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd. |
It was good exercise. They filled seven bags. The total weight was
about 80 pounds. Paula really likes the Arb and does what she can to help them. |
When the Dynamic Duo returned to Gilbert Lodge, they found a squirrel scaling
the exterior stucco siding. Obviously the small animal has no fear of heights, even at 20 feet above the ground. |
Paula then decided it was time to decorate a wreath for the Lodge entrance.
She did the work on a ladder in the shop before taking the wreath outside. Green Thumb Paula has an eye for art and decorating. |
But wait, there's more! | ||
Hmmm...Chef Paula was
busy in the Galley with King Arthur Flour! |
Ingredients were laid out to make something, but what? |
She experimented with making Swedish Meatballs in her
Instant Pot. It is a
pressure cooker going by a new name. Mark is a Swedish Meatball, so it all makes sense to eat this kind of food. |
There was time to enjoy a fire in the Grand Fireplace while the food was
cooking. Meticulously decorated, Paula! |
There is a Dutch shoe tradition. Bad boys and girls in Holland find
their shoes filled with coal instead of candy. Paula is of Dutch ancestry. She won't say how many times this happened to her!! |
The fire was warm and cozy when dinner arrived on the table. Nice touch with the cranberries. |
Quote of the day: Each day brings something new. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
