Sunday, August 6, 2017: Mark and Paula found themselves in Frankenmuth, MI.

This is a town influenced by Bavarian immigrants from a century ago.
Mark liked the wooden soldier.

Then there was Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland.  It is billed as the "World's largest Christmas Store."
No one can dispute that.  It is huge.

Nicely done displays were everywhere.

There was even a place to drop off a letter to the jolly guy himself.

There he goes now, testing out his sleigh and reindeer for the big night in December.

Frankenmuth is known for lots of great tasting food, even if it is a bit fattening.

Then it was off to Zehnder's for one of their famous chicken dinners.
It is a popular spot drawing thousands of people.

Waitress Christy showed up with appetizers.

Then there was the main course with an endless supply of chicken.  WOW, who could eat all that?
The food was fabulous!!!

They know how to do this right.  Paula even had a mermaid in her ice cream.
As a SCUBA diver, she could really appreciate that!

The Dynamic Duo of Mark and Paula stayed at the Marv Herzon Hotel on the river.
The place was named in honor of a local musician and his family with the Schnitzelbank Band.
They brought German music to folks in Michigan.

Quote of the day:    Now for a good night's rest.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
