Saturday, June 10,
2017: Mark
and Paula were wandering through downtown Minneapolis when they
found this mother and child playing a piano. Yes, the piano was in the middle of it all and open for anyone to play. |
Then they were off
to the
Stone Arch Bridge over the Mississippi River on the north edge of
downtown. No car traffic here, just foot traffic and bikes. |
Occassionally a few Segways will cross with
young and old alike. |
Musicians are there to make a little money
too. |
Mark and Paula became a little hungry after
seeing all this so they stopped at a nearby ice cream shop. Some say Izzy's is the World's best. Cones with two flavors, who could ask for more? Great stuff. |
Back on the bridge they saw a horse drawn
carriage with a tour guide. What were they looking at? |
This is it, the Lowry Avenue Lighted
Bridge. It changes colors from day to day to signify a community
event. |
The Dynamic Duo headed under a part of the
Stone Arch Bridge on a foot path. Minneapolis was once the flower milling capital of the Midwest with Gold Medal and Pillsbury's Best. |
Th bridge was nicely lit on the other side
and well worth the walk. |
Mark took this photo from under the bridge
back in June of 2014. It looks as good as ever. |
Nearby streets with Brownstone buildings
reminded Mark of neighborhoods near downtown New York. Nice 75 degree weather and orange lighting. |
Quote of the day: Ahhh...summer is great! Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
