Saturday, April 22, 2017:  The Dynamic Duo of Mark and Paula Persons headed to the old downtown area of Las Vegas.

Lots of actors dressed to get paid by tourists for photos.  Plenty of imagination too.

There was live music and dancing.  It didn't matter how young or old the participants were.

Interesting seeing caricatures being done.  Some were in clay.

Artists and entertainers were there too.

Humans can smoke cigars and cats can too.  This feline was seen at the nearby Container Park shopping center.

Hmmm.....a giant creature looked plenty dangerous blowing flame.  Best be careful around there.

Yes, Vegas has a bit of everything including pan handlers.

Lots of photo opportunities with zip liners overhead.

Then the evening show was a fairly well done visual experience.

An animated six-minute graphics lighting spectacular, with sound, wowed the crowd.
Some 12.5 million LED lamps cover the 1500 foot long x 90 foot wide street cover.

Here's the rest of the story from Mark:  The sound a few years back was very well done, just right.  Money was spent recently to make the sound LOUDER.  Not a good choice.  The audio is now distorted and difficult to listen to.  Sound Engineer Shane Toven echoed that remark.  Apparently the programmers thought that "louder is better."  Well, they got it loud, but it was definitely not better.  Anyone in radio could tell them that!

Quote of the day:    Las Vegas is an interesting place.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
