2016: The Dynamic Duo of Mark and Paula headed to St. Paul to see the
Landmark Center. A statue out front is American short story writer and novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940). The books he wrote included The Great Gatsby, This Side of Paradise, and Tender is the Night. |
Plenty of pigeons looking for food outside. They didn't
mind 15 degree temperatures. |
Snoopy characters grace a park in front of the Landmark
Center. |
There is a skating rink nearby. It is a popular spot in
evenings and on weekends. |
Inside the Landmark Center where it was nice a warm. Piano
player Laura Bond making Christmas music. It used to be in old western movies that there would be a sign on the piano saying, "Don't Shoot the Piano Player." It seems piano players were few and far between so they couldn't afford to loose one! |
A view of the center part of the holiday craft vendor area.
This is just 1/4 of the total holiday sales space in the building. Notice a man looking over the area from the second floor. |
Paula was caught putting a hand in the proverbial cookie jar
back at the hotel. She loves sweets. |
Quote of the day: Yes, Christmas is approaching. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
