Tuesday, June
14, 2016:
Flag Day at
Woodland Good Samaritan in Brainerd. Flags and patriotic music were
the order of the day. |
|
A color guard from the
Brainerd American
Legion, the Brainerd
Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Crow Wing County Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans was there for the ceremony. |
|
Minnesota State Senator Carrie Ruud (R) of Aitkin told of her family's
participation in our nation's military and how important it is to protect our
country. Then President Abraham Lincoln, or his double Bill Erickson, read the Gettysburg Address. |
|
The Woodland Chorus sang patriotic
songs to the delight of the several hundred in attendance. |
|
They sang well with great feeling. |
The Brainerd Veterans of Foreign
Wars Auxiliary was represented there too. |
Then a local musician, appropriately dressed, was on hand to
entertain. It all went very well.
|
Quote of the day: Nicely done. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
