Monday,
May 16, 2016:
Mark and Paula found themselves in Milan,
Ohio. They visited the resting place of Paula's paternal grandparents...Reinier and Mabel Timman. |
|
Milan is also the birthplace
of famous inventor
Thomas
Edison (1847 - 1931). You owe the light bulb and
phonograph to this prolific man. |
|
There is a square in the middle of town lit by Edison light
bulbs. |
The city center has a gazebo
for speeches along with a statue of a young Thomas Edison and his mother.

Paula spent more
time talking with relatives and looking over 100-year old photos
of her ancestors.
There was a lot to
learn. Mark told Paula that the more she digs into family history, the more likely she is to discover a horse thief! |
|||
Raccoons find this town interesting too. |
Quote of the day: Always something to learn. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
