         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons
 
Saturday, March 6, 2016:  It was the annual Kite Crossing event near Garrison, Minnesota, on Mille Lacs Lake.  
 
Snow kite enthusiasts from around the state gathered to "catch the wind" for a ride at the lake on skis. 
 
Mille Lacs is about 20 miles across so there is plenty of open area for wind to develop and sweep across the lake.
 
There was some water on the lake surface that day so it was something like water skiing.
 
At the end of the day, it was time to pack up.  Those kites are really light.
 
Lots of happy kiters that day.
 
There is always one who will hold out to catch the wind one more time.  This one did so at the end of the day with water puddles glistening on the ice.
