January 6, 2016:
Mark and Paula was headed out to the LBJ Ranch, near Stonewall, Texas. Yes, it is still a working ranch. President Johnson served from 1963 to 1968. His most lasting legacies are the Great Society and the Vietnam War, which turned out to be a disaster for his administration. Mark was a U. S. Army Sergeant in Vietnam during that time and saw it from that end. |

A beautiful site with a tree canopy along
the driveway. |
The presidential jet. Actually it
was owed by the president and affectionately called "Air Force
1/2" because it was not the official, much larger, Air Force jet
plane. |
Guided tours were offered of the ranch house, however,
photographs were not allowed there. Paula decided she looked good behind at a podium with the presidential seal. Might she be a candidate for the first female president of the United States? Hmmm..... |
The
Johnsons loved to show off their unique river crossing to the
press and visitors. |
Hmmm....is this a clue for the Dynamic Duo's next stop? |
