The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Wednesday, January 6, 2016:

Mark and Paula was headed out to the LBJ Ranch, near Stonewall, Texas.

Yes, it is still a working ranch.

President Johnson served from 1963 to 1968.

His most lasting legacies are the Great Society and the Vietnam War, which turned out to be a disaster for his administration.

Mark was a U. S. Army Sergeant in Vietnam during that time and saw it from that end.

A beautiful site with a tree canopy along the driveway.

The presidential jet.  Actually it was owed by the president and affectionately called "Air Force 1/2" because it was not the official, much larger, Air Force jet plane.

Guided tours were offered of the ranch house, however, photographs were not allowed there.

Paula decided she looked good behind at a podium with the presidential seal.

Might she be a candidate for the first female president of the United States?

Hmmm.....

The Johnsons loved to show off their unique river crossing to the press and visitors.

Hmmm....is this a clue for the Dynamic Duo's next stop?

Quote of the day:    More to see on this blog.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
