Sunday,
September 27, 2015:
Mark and Paula checked out of a cozy cabin at Sylvan lake Lodge in Custer State Park for the past three nights. |
They headed for the
Badlands National Park where visitors were pointing at animals over
a half mile off. They were bighorn sheep. Those animals have no problem negotiating the steep hills and narrow pathways through of the Badlands. |
|
Fabulous awe-inspiring
scenery for everyone to enjoy. |
|
That is...if
they are not afraid of height. Colorful too. |
Then, the Dynamic Duo was driving down the road, minding their own
business, when they saw sign after sign. |
Others apparently arrived by covered wagon or by train. Lots of
ways to get there. Mark calculated that the place is 559 miles
from Brainerd. |
Wall Drug is an interesting place.
Dead-Eye Paula met up with her old pal Wyatt Earp. Both know
about guns. Then she discovered Mark with his hand on another woman's leg! "But Paula, I can explain," he exclaimed. "Excuses excuses," she said. |
Lots of things to see at
Wall Drug. |
Paula jumped on this improbable rabbit
with horns. Later she decided Mark and all was well so they some ice cream together. The folks at Wall Drug sure know how to do it right. |
That night there was a Super Blood
Moon eclipse. It is the earth moving between the sun and the moon.
The event didn't happen long. It was a full eclipse at 9:27 pm, then a moon crescent started showing at 9:34 pm. |
Yes, there are likely to be more stopping spots along the road to wherever. |
Quote of the day: Stay tuned for the next exciting adventure. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
