Wednesday, July 15, 2015: 

The annual Country Sampler Picnic was held as a fund raiser at Northland Arboretum in Brainerd.

Coordinators worked all year with high hopes to make this event a success.
One of the event favorites is this band of local guys.  The one on the right is Ken Thomas, morning personality on WJJY Radio.
They are famous for taking well known songs and putting Minnesota words to them.  Lots of fun to hear.
 
Lots to see and enjoy at the event.  Country hats seem to be making a comeback.
 
Plenty of food too.  Dennis Drummond, an instructor at Central Lakes College, was showing off the "fruits" of his labors.  Dennis teaches wine making.
 
Yes, it was a "thumbs up" at the Arb that day by adults and kids alike.
 
Hmmm...another of those country hats.  Local royalty wore crowns.
 
More happy people except it started raining.  It was umbrellas and then it was time to go indoors at the main Arb building.
 
 The picnic continued.  Gosh even more country hats showed up!
 
 Then another local band was playing jazz that anyone could appreciate.  They really get into their music.
 
These guys just like to make music, sometimes in public with very good reviews. 
 
 There was an appreciative audience.  Kids even got up and danced.
