Wednesday, July 8, 2015:
An evening fishing trip on Sylvan Lake, about 15 miles west of Brainerd. It was sponsored by the Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd. Jim Van Duyn provided and drove drove one boat with three kids. He likes kids. Fishermen brought plenty of tackle and high hopes to lure the big ones. |
|
There were two boats.
Mark said he wanted to be on the "lucky" one. It wasn't long before the first one was caught by Bob Bjorg. Not to be outdone, Mark caught one too. |
The sky before sunset had rays poking out as Pastor
Justin was trolling for a big one. It looked like divine guidance. |
Well, it worked out after all. A good sized northern for
the pastor. Serigne, a young man visiting from Germany, was also in the boat fishing. He hooked a few, but they got away. Better luck next time. The plan was to switch sides of the boat if they were not catching fish. It's in the Bible. |
The crew gave Mark a hard time for
catching the "smallest" fish of the evening. He must have been
fishing on the wrong side of the boat. In the end, there was a bag of fish to clean and go home with the lucky fishermen. |
Quote of the day: You can never have too much fun fishing. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
