Saturday, July 4, 2015:
Mark and Paula were at Jack and Candy Scott's place for the annual Independence
Day celebration. The location is Borden Lake, near Lake Mille Lacs in Central Minnesota. |
All of the usual |
Plenty of food to go around. All of it was great. Some of it was fattening! |
Then it was time for the
annual boat parade with about a dozen entries including General and Mrs.
Washington. |
|
Lots of
color and lots of fun. The air that day was heavy with smoke from
fires in Canada, but it didn't interrupt the festivities. |
|
The Scott family entry had two riding a paddleboard. |
|
This one had two Bald Eagles and a baby eagle. Nicely done It was a real crowd pleaser. |
Then it was time for the annual egg toss with raw
eggs compliments of Paula. It started out easy enough until the rows of people moved further apart. |
Some did pretty well catching eggs. Some did not. OOPS! Better luck next year. |
This is the latest in hammocks. The ladder
was there to attach them to trees. Participants in this activity climb into the lowest hammock and then work their way up, one hammock at a time. |
Quote of the day: What will they think of next? Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
