         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons
Saturday, March 7, 2015:  Mark and Paula drove to Mille Lacs Lake to see the 11th Annual Kite Crossing.  Kite enthusiasts harness the wind to zoom along the lake, much like a sailboat would during the summer.
 
There is plenty of pull when the wind is up a bit.

It doesn't take much to get going fast.

Colorful kites and skillful skiers.

They really have fun.

Some hoot and holler while in the air.
They even had ski jumps, which worked fairly well when the wind and skill teamed up.  Broken arms and legs are a possible ending to a fun day like this.
 
Look out, here comes another one!
 
Interesting license plates were spotted there too.
