The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Sunday, February 22, 2015:  Cold weather invaded the northland.  Exhaust pipes from the two main Lennox high-efficiency natural gas furnaces at Gilbert Lodge were showing some ice build-up on their chins.  This is normal and can be much worse on some installations causing blockage of the pipes.  These were installed on the north side of the Lodge by Thelen Heating in Brainerd some 11 years back and have operated without problems ever since.

Cold temperatures recorded this week were normal for a Brainerd winter.

Temperature cycling brought about icicles in a few places on the south side of the Lodge.  Sun shines on the steel roof causing the melting.  Not a problem, but interesting to see.

Quote of the day:    Winter is just a part of Minnesota life.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
