Ground Hog Day. Gilbert Lodge does not have a ground hog, but it does have Nipper. This dog is the one you associated with Gramophone records dating back in 1909. He is a good judge of sound and knows "His Master's Voice" coming from a Gramophone record. Nipper is a regular at Gilbert Lodge. He decided to be a stand-in for the ground hog. The sun rose and Nipper saw his shadow in the snow while sitting in the snow. Darn, that meant six more weeks of winter! |
In an exclusive interview with investigative reporter Paula from the Gilbert Lodge
Blog, Nipper related his feelings. Question: Why'd you do it? Answer: Well, I didn't have anything to loose and I was getting tired of winter as usual. Question: What were you expecting? Answer: I was hoping for an early spring, but that was just the dog in me. Question: What experience do you have in a job like this? Answer: I've seen a lot of springs since 1909 and thought I had it figured out. Question: What do you get with an early spring? Answer: It means more summertime to chase cats. Anything else you'd like to tell our audience? Answer: You have to get up plenty early in the morning to fool me. |
There you have it, an exclusive interview with Nipper the dog. |
