December 27, 2014: It has become an annual
tradition to see a movie on about New Years Eve with friend Karen Engen. The movie this year was Unbroken. It was the story of an Olympic athlete who became a prison of war during World War II and the challenges he faced. Karen, Paula, and Mark liked it. |
Mark couldn't resist reading
Twas the Night Before Christmas, a Visit From St. Nicholas, that
night after the movie. He enjoys telling the story about the arrival of Santa Clause on Christmas Eve. |

December 30, 2014: Gas hit an astounding low of $199.9 per gallon, the lowest it has been in over four years. We can thank the oil producers in North Dakota for that. They have lessened our dependence on foreign oil while pushing crude oil prices down. Mark remembers when gas was $0.30 per gallon about the time he started driving in 1964. That is $2.29 in today's (2014) price.....662% inflation! |
Quote of the day: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
