Christmas Day, Thursday,
December 25, 2014:
A deer showed up in the yard looking like one of the animals at the stable where Jesus was born. It seemed perfectly content and safe....as it should be. |

Chef Paula made a turkey using her special hand rub. It looks dark, but the flavor is just right. There were onions and such on the inside. The dressing was cooked separately. |

Paula cooked her famous squash too. Butter permeates the squash to make it a "melt in the mouth" experience. |

On the table with gravy, rolls, cranberries,
green beans creamed with almonds, and
white wine, it was just right for the occasion. Good going, Paula! |

The Christmas Star shown brightly that night at Gilbert Lodge. A fitting end to a joyous day. |
