Sunday, May 11, 2014: 

Through the pines at Gilbert lodge, some boats are spotted cruising by on this warm day.

Yes, spring is here and summer is coming.
 
Woodsman Mark was out with his trusty chainsaw cutting down a tree.

That tree was leaning quite a bit after a recent wind storm.

It was time for the tree to come down.
 
It took a bit of planning, but Mark made it drop between a utility box and the mailbox on the street side of Gilbert lodge.

Mark said, "I was just lucky!"

 
 
As you can see, the tree was leaning before coming down.

It split wildly as the chainsaw chewed through it.

Two trees were sacrificed that day for the Gilbert Lodge Grand Fireplace.
