Spring weather. Groundskeeper Paula was out picking
leaves from around the raspberry bushes. She is looking forward to fresh raspberries again this year. |
It wasn't long before Paula spotted a
baby turtle> They are a common site around Gilbert Lodge in the spring. Turtles hatch on land and then head for the lake. |
This turtle is just over an inch long
and has colorful markings on its junderside. Paula helped it out by taking it down to the lake. She is very in tune with animals. |
Once at the lake, Paula saw fishermen
and fisherwomen trying their luck on this first day of the fishing
season. No word on how well they did. Paula sometimes exclaims that fishermen take "her" fish from the lake! |
Quote of the day: Always something to talk about at Gilbert Lodge. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
