Saturday, December 28, 2013: 

It was a surprise 60th birthday party for Linda Hanson.

She and her brother Gregg were mighty surprised when they walked in the door of Linda's home.

 

There were about thirty five people there, of which you can see only some in this photo.

A few were taking photos as Linda walked in the door.

Cameras in Smartphones seem to be the most common way to take photos nowadays.

 
Lots of good conversation.  Some of it was about what things cost today as opposed to 60 years ago.

Back in 1953, gas was only 29 cents, a new car was $1850, a gallon of milk was $0.94, a new house was $17,500, and a postage stamp was just 3 cents. 

How things have changed!

 
Even young ones enjoyed the party.

Who could blame them with lots of good food.

 
Ladies everywhere.

Not a bad place to be.

A lucky guy.

 
Hmmm...this looks like good wine.

I will try some. 

 
Two of the men had a fire going in the yard to keep warm while they were enjoying a brew.

The outside temperature at the time was just below zero with a 20 below wind chill.

Just normal winter for Minnesotans. 

 
Chocolate and vanilla birthday cake was enjoyed by all.

Good thing there weren't 60 candles on top.

 
Some were having very interesting conversations.

Probably the latest gossip...not to be repeated on this website.

 
Paula and Linda.

They have known each other for about 30 years.
