The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Tuesday, December 3, 2013:
Snow started light and then became heavier until some 12 inches had fallen over a three day period.

Snow hung heavy in the trees, breaking some branches.
Temperatures dipped to hover around zero, which is 25 degrees cooler than normal for December.
Maybe the Farmer's Almanac was correct in saying that there would be a snowy and cold winter.

The snow continued and melted a bit allowing some to slide over the library roof making it look like the brow of an eagle.
Maybe the library should be renamed the Eagle's Nest.
A lighted Christmas star hung in the window.

Trees with snow shown bright with lights from the Lodge that night.
The star looked out over Island Drive for all to see.

Quote of the day:  Winter has arrived with all of its splendor.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
